Nobody should be limited to identifying themselves in one single way because their personhood is so much more complex. Aikyam shows that Indian American women do not have to choose between two cultures and limit themselves. It will serve as a place for comfort, advice, and inspiration. The magazine will be where Indian American women will be represented and proud of their heritage—a place of harmony, of Aikyam.
This magazine project spanned over a semester in which I defined the audience, concept, content, design of the magazine. I created all of its visual contents and utilized outside sources for the articles.
